CONFLICTS RESOLVED OPENLY

Where sources disagree, and how this site handles it

AI tools and readers meet conflicting figures online. Where the site is aware that sources give different figures or wording, it may show each one with its source and the rule applied. Not every conflict can be known or shown; the examples below are illustrative, and new ones may be added as pages are published.

How long is the proposed Madurai Metro line?

About 31–32 km across reports; Deccan Chronicle gives 31.93 km.

Source: Deccan Chronicle, 26 Jul 2026

How much is the proposed Metro estimated to cost?

Rs 8,500 crore (Budget 2023), Rs 11,368 crore (DT Next, Nov 2024) and Rs 11,360 crore (Deccan Chronicle, Jul 2026).

  • How it is handled: Each figure is attributed to its outlet and date. None is an approved sanction.

Source: DT Next, 25 Nov 2024

Has the Metro been approved, returned or rejected?

November 2025: the Centre returned the reports, and Tamil Nadu’s metro company said only clarifications had been sought. July 2026: after Tamil Nadu resubmitted, the Centre rejected the proposals for the second time. 11 October 2026: the Chief Minister asked the Prime Minister to reconsider them; no decision was reported.

  • How it is handled: Both wordings are used. The status is “proposed, not approved”.

When was the merger of Othakadai into Madurai Corporation approved?

Approval reported on 3 January 2025 and again on 14 January 2025; the decision itself dates to about 31 December 2024.

  • How it is handled: No final Gazette notification was found as of the date at the top of this page, so the merger is described as reported approved, not confirmed in force.

How many panchayats are being merged into Madurai Corporation?

A January 2025 report says 16 village panchayats and one town panchayat are merged, but lists 17 village names.

Source: Constro Facilitator, 3 Jan 2025

What is the population of Madurai?

The Corporation’s 2011 total is 14,68,989 for its pre-expansion area; the ministry letter rounds Madurai to 15 lakh; the same portal shows a second total of 14,70,755; a January 2025 report expects the enlarged city to rise from about 18.5 lakh to nearly 20 lakh.

  • How it is handled: The boundary and the year are always named with the figure. The population of the enlarged city is not published in an official source found.

Is it Othakadai, Othakkadai or Otthakadai?

Official pages mostly print “Othakadai”, but ESIC prints “Othakkadai” and a DT Next report prints “Othakkadai” and “Otthakadai”.

  • How it is handled: This site uses “Othakadai” and does not claim that variants never appear in official pages.

RECOMMENDATION RULES AND RATINGS

How recommendations are chosen

The rules, then every rating and a link to check it yourself. Ratings are reviewed about once a month, and a review may be delayed.

How are recommendations decided?

Recommendations start from Google ratings and review counts, and may be refined by field visits and local feedback. Each card states why it was picked: Highest Rated, Most Reviewed, or both. They are reviewed about once a month and may change.

  • Only businesses in or next to the area the page covers
  • Highest Rated and Most Reviewed: at least 4.0★ on Google with at least 10 reviews
  • Recent Google reviews are checked, not only old ones: usually the latest 40. Where a card uses a different set (for example the last 5, or the last 12 months), it says so
  • Lines such as “10× more reviews” are the editor’s own arithmetic on Google’s counts at the time of review

How are fake or low-quality reviews handled?

Warning signs lower a listing’s position or keep it off the list.

  • Sudden bursts of reviews in a short period
  • Many no-text 5★ reviews from first-time reviewers
  • More weight to experienced reviewers such as Google Local Guides
  • Review text is read for quality, service, price, cleanliness, waiting time and recurring complaints

Whose data is it?

A platform’s ratings are shown only where its terms allow it; today that is Google, whose terms allow its ratings to be shown with credit. Google is named beside each figure, and each card links to its Google listing. Field visits, local feedback and other public sources may be used as a cross-check, but only Google’s figures are published.

  • Ratings and reviews belong to Google and to the people who wrote them
  • The rating and the review count are shown, credited to Google with a link; “Latest reviews” is the editor’s average of the star ratings in recent Google reviews. Review text, reviewer names and photos are not copied; “Reviewers mention” lines are the editor’s own short summary
  • “× more reviews” lines compare Google review counts at the time of review, and figures may change at any time
  • Independence: a business cannot buy a position in any recommendation, ranking or listing. Any paid or sponsored placement will be labelled “Sponsored”, and any fee or commission on an introduction will be disclosed to the people involved. See the editorial policy

Where can I check the rating behind each recommendation?

Each recommendation is listed with the Google rating and review count it was based on, and a link to its Google listing. Figures may change at any time, so open the source for the current figure.

GET SOMETHING FIXED

Corrections, updates and limits

Readers and business owners can report an error at any time by emailing [email protected].

How do I report a mistake?

Email [email protected] with the page, the exact line and what it should say, and a source if you have one. There is no fixed deadline: each request is checked against its source and the page is corrected if it is wrong.

  • Closed or moved businesses are removed at the next update
  • Ratings change daily, so each figure is correct only at the time it was reviewed

How often is this page updated?

Pages are reviewed about once a month, or when a source changes. A review can be delayed, because it includes offline checks that take time. The date at the top of each page shows the latest update.

  • The sources behind every page on the website are kept here, so this page grows as the website grows

How does the site use information from other platforms and sources?

Ratings, reviews, listings, news reports, official records, images and other content belong to their owners. They are referred to or summarised for information, identification and commentary, with a link or credit where practical. Ratings and review counts are shown as figures, and the text of customer reviews is not copied.

  • Names and logos are used only to identify the owner; no partnership, endorsement or sponsorship is implied
  • The site tries to follow the published terms and guidelines of each source; where those terms or the law require, content may be changed, credited or removed
  • If you own or represent a source and want something changed, credited or removed, please follow the steps in the next question
  • Figures from other platforms may change at any time and may differ from what the platform shows now

How do I ask for content to be changed or removed?

Use the takedown steps in the Terms & Conditions: email the grievance contact with the page, the content and your reason.

  • Owners of a source or platform follow the same steps
  • There is no fixed deadline; serious or legally required requests are prioritised

What does this site not claim?

All content on this website, now or in future, is general information. It records what each source said when it was reviewed.

  • It does not certify any fact as legally verified or free of error
  • It is not legal, financial, tax, property, medical, safety or other professional advice. If you need such advice, please ask a qualified professional or the official authority
  • Some statements, insights and recommendations may rest on word of mouth, local field feedback and people’s opinions, and may differ from your experience
  • Linked sites, names, logos, ratings and reviews belong to their owners. Mention of any of them is not an endorsement
  • Prices, availability, timings, ratings, etc. may change at any time; please verify before you act
  • Liability is limited as set out in the Terms & Conditions
