Othakadai.com is operated by Arun Kumar Thiagarajan, who decides why and how personal data collected through the site is used.

What we collect, and why
Only what is needed for each purpose.
What do you collect from me directly?
Only what you choose to send us when you contact us by email, phone or message.
- Your name, phone number, email address and the message or requirement you write
- If you ask for an introduction, the details of your requirement and any other details you choose to give
- If you buy or sell property through a listing on Othakadai.com, the details needed to complete the sale, such as names, contact details and the records the law requires
The site does not currently offer sign-up, login or online payment; if that changes, this page will be updated. Please do not send government ID numbers, bank or card details, or health information. We do not ask for them. Sale documents are checked at registration, not on this site.
What is collected automatically?
When you visit, basic technical and usage data may be collected by the tools listed below and by our hosting provider.
- IP address (which may be used to work out approximate location) and browser, device and operating-system type
- Pages visited, time spent, the page that referred you, clicks, scrolling and similar interactions
- Cookies and similar identifiers
This is collected for security, performance, analytics and site maintenance, and to understand how people use the site.
Which tools may the site use?
The site may use tools such as the following to understand traffic and improve the service. If tools are added or removed, this page is updated.
- Google Analytics 4 (the Google tag), loaded by the cookie banner only after you choose “Accept analytics”: counts visits and shows which pages are used. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services
- Google Search Console: shows how the site appears in Google Search; it does not track visitors
- Cloudflare Web Analytics: visit counts, which Cloudflare describes as privacy-first
- Microsoft Clarity: shows how visitors use pages through behavioural metrics, heatmaps and session recordings, using first- and third-party cookies. It runs only after you choose “Accept analytics”. The cookie banner always tells Clarity that advertising cookies are refused, and this site has not linked Clarity to Microsoft Advertising. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement
- Content delivery services that the site or its theme may use to load files, and the Google map, which loads only when you choose “Show the map” and may then set Google’s own cookies
- Social-media embeds or advertising networks such as Google AdSense, etc., if they are introduced in future
These services have their own privacy policies and may process data outside India.
Why do you use my data?

On what basis do you use it?
On your consent, which you give when you send information for a stated purpose or choose “Accept” on the cookie banner, and for legitimate uses permitted by law. Wherever you are, analytics and session-recording cookies are not set until you accept. You can withdraw consent at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, by emailing us, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Until the main duties under the DPDP Rules, 2025 come into force on 13 May 2027, this policy also follows the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.
Do you send marketing communications?
A service enquiry is not treated as unlimited consent to send unrelated marketing indefinitely. Marketing communications are handled according to applicable consent, telecommunications and electronic-marketing requirements, including India’s TRAI rules, which were further amended in September 2026 to add safeguards around commercial communications and verifiable inquiry-based communications.

What can I ask for?
Email contact@othakadai.com to ask to:
- See a summary of the personal data we hold about you, how it is used and who it has been shared with
- Correct or complete it
- Delete it
- Withdraw your consent, or object to our use of it
- Name another person who can use these rights for you if you die or become unable to act
- Make a complaint about how your data is handled
We reply as soon as we reasonably can. In India you may approach the Data Protection Board of India once it is operating, as provided by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you live elsewhere, you may also have rights under your local law, and you may contact your local data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not require us to delete information that must lawfully be retained for legal claims, statutory obligations, security or another permitted purpose.
Cookies and how to switch them off
When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Wherever you are, Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity stay off until you choose “Accept analytics”. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
- Necessary: the site works without any choice from you
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity): off until you accept, and off again after you choose Reject; choosing Reject also deletes this site’s own analytics cookies. Clarity may record how you scroll, click and move on a page, and masks sensitive form fields
- Your choice is remembered in your browser for up to 6 months, after which you are asked again
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and Google offers an opt-out add-on for Google Analytics. Blocking cookies does not stop you reading the site. Cloudflare Web Analytics measures visits without advertising profiles; see Cloudflare’s own privacy policy for details.
Who handles privacy complaints?
The grievance contact for personal-data matters is Arun Kumar Thiagarajan, contact@othakadai.com. Please write “Privacy request” in the subject line so it is not missed. Privacy complaints are looked at in good faith and answered as soon as reasonably possible.
Children
This site is not meant for children (anyone under 18), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has sent us data, email us and we will delete it.
External links
Linked sites have their own privacy practices. We do not control them or guarantee their accuracy, safety or data handling. Use external links at your own discretion.
